Side by Side is a Jersey charity set up to support those affected in Sri Lanka by the Tsunami of 2004.

An event was held on St Ouen’s Bay in 2005 where thousands of local people came together to spell out the words Side by Side on the sand. An aerial photograph of the spectacle was taken by a JEP photographer from a helicopter.

I painted a watercolour based on that photo which I made into a limited edition of prints, sold to raise money for the charity.

The last 5 prints of the edition were recently sold, with framing donated by Framing Workshop, Don Street, Jersey. All the money raised (£800) went to help those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
