Below are a selection of paintings I did in Sri Lanka over the winter months.
The first 5 are a mini series of Temple or “Pansala” paintings done on upcycled chopping boards. The drawing for each painting was done directly on the primed board on site at the temple. Spending time at the temple and looking at the elements that characterise that particular temple was an important part of the process of making each painting.
The last painting shown here is a big (2 metre long) mackerel I painted on the wall of our new kitchen at Aqua Beach.
The watercolours are available to buy from my studio in Jersey but the Temple series I have kept in Sri Lanka to display in my new studio/gallery when it is completed at Aqua Beach later this year.
